When 11-year old Alex Hunt took a bow after his first piano recital,
the celebration of his accomplishment was dynamic, rewarding and a long time coming.
“Our family’s journey to health began in 2005, when our then five year old son was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder,” explains Alex’s mom, Jana Hunt.  Alex, she adds, was a happy child for the most part. “But that ray of sunshine would disappear sometimes when he would have a teary meltdown over something rather small like a balloon escaping or some frustration that was making him unsettled.  He was inconsolable for a long time.  We could not go to movies because the pain from loud noises was intolerable for him.  His fine motor skills were affected also.  He had troubles with buttons and anything that needed manipulating.  He did not like anything that took balance like scooters, or bicycles or that type of thing.
